Medar introduced its new generation of programmable resistance welding controls in 1982. The Legend (which was later named the MedWeld 700 Series) was flexible in design and provided network ready connections for welding engineers.

Using the Legend's communications interface in automotive, industrial and aerospace industries, this control provided much data for resistance welding processes that eventually provided the world with new welding algorithms to assure weld quality and production reliability.
