Medar was originally a company involved in the medical equipment industry. The heart monitor "blip" still continues to be part of the Medar brand logo.

It was only in the early part of the 70's that this company was invited by a fabricator of automotive wheels that prompted Medar to apply its technology for resistance welding processes.
